Rosewood Letterbox & Stationery Rack
A mid 19th century rosewood & mother of pearl inlaid letter or mail box.
The box has carved open fretwork on all sides with silk behind, stationery racks at each end and is raised on turned feet.
The top has a hinged lid with a lock and key, two slots for mail and the surrounding frame is decorated with mother of pearl inlay and plaques, one for 'Answered' and the other 'Unanswered'.
The compartment inside has a division to keep the different mails apart.
The letter box is in very good condition. (Circa 1840)
