Rare Scottish Provincial Silver Skean Dhu
A rare, antique, Scottish Provincial Silver mounted Skean Dhu made by Ferguson & MacBean of Inverness dating from c1890.
The silver mount hallmarked with the maker's mark "F&B" for Ferguson & MacBean, and "INVS" the town mark for Inverness.
The blade also stamped "Ferguson & MacBean, Inverness.
The wooden handle with basket weave carving and applied studs. The leather covered scabbard with engraved mounts.
The Skean Dhu is in good unrestored condition, although the point at the end of the blade has broken off (see photo).
The total length is 7" inches (180mm).
