Date - Circa 1820
De Wint who was a pupil of John Varley developed into probably the finest watercolourist of the 19th century. This example is typical of his loose, impressionistic flowing style and was exhibited at the Fine Art Society in 1964. De Wint exhibited mainly at the Royal Watecolour Society (formerly OWS) but also at the RA. The Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert museum have a number of his works as well as representation in many public and private collections.
