An extremely good pair of 18th Century twin handled garden urns. These lead urns date from 1780, they are decorated with foliage swags surrounding a central cartouche set above a dragooned design to the lower body. The urns stand well on lobed bases. The handles are particularly beautiful with flowing lines and a distinctive pattern. The condition is good, there has been some change of shape due to the elements and use, this is to be expected, lead being a soft metal, and only adds to the character. The urns have an excellent patination that can only be acquired with age. A superb pair of urns to use in the garden or use for decorative display indoors.
