Handsome paperweight in the form of a gilded brass grasshopper on ebonised base produced to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Martin’s Bank by Thomas Gresham at the sign of the Grasshopper in Lombard Street London in 1563. With commemorative label on the base, it is a lovely piece of London banking memorabilia in original condition.
