A magnificent example of an Art Deco wine cooler / Champagne bucket by the famous French silversmith's Maison Christofle, this example being part of their Gallia range.

A striking, almost modernist design with lug handles and tapered shape, the bottom section with ribbed decoration. Designed by the celebrated Luc Lanel.

The underside is struck with the Gallia mark used in the period c.1931-c.1935 containing an inscription "O.GALLIA" together with the Christofle mark, the chess mark flanked by O C for Orfèvrerie Christofle.

Just back from our silversmith's workshop having been professionally cleaned and polished restoring it to it's former glory.

Excellent condition measuring 9" handle to handle x 7 3/4" x 8 1/4" tall.
