Liberty And Co Fireside Chair With Rush Seat
Small (three quarter size) beech wood fireside single chair with original woven rush seat. This type of rush chair in the Arts & Crafts manner was retailed by Liberty & co (London) and is dated turn-of-the-century (c. 1900). The chair has a high back with five wavy vertical rails and double classic stretchers to the front and the sides. The seat is low (31cm high) as such a chair was originally intended for sitting low and as close to the fire as possible to keep warm. This collectable chair would add great charm when placed next to a small stove or small fireplace in any setting (with a William Morris or Liberty's type interior décor) or a cottage-style kitchen. Stove and other accessories are for display purposes only.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.

Condition Good original condition, sturdy with no wobbles, no breakages to the rush seat, which is clean but has some surface wear, scuffs and general wear to the original finish, condition throughout is commensurate with age and past use, no woodworm.

Returns policy
There is a right to cancel an order from the moment the order is placed to The Sitting Place up to 14 days from the day the item is delivered/received. In the unlikely event that the customer/buyer is not pleased with a purchase made from The Sitting Place, the item in question may be returned. Notification of a return to The Sitting Place is to be made by the customer by email or by phone on +44(0)7341770324.
The item needs to be returned within a further 14 days to The Sitting Place and in the condition the item was received and suitable for re-sale. The customer is to take reasonable care and ensure that the item is well protected when returning the item. The customer is informed that a deduction of the refund will be made to cover for delivery cost to complete the return of the item(s) (unless otherwise agreed). A further reduction of the refund can be made by The Sitting Place if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of the customer handling the item more than was necessary or as a result of the item being soiled and/or damaged.
The return of the item will be arranged by The Sitting Place. Refunds will be made to the customer/buyer, within 14 days of The Sitting Place receiving the returned item(s). Returns cannot be made for items purchased from outside the United Kingdom.
It is brought to the customer's/buyer's attention that the items sold by The Sitting Place are antique and hence the wood will have some wear commensurate with age.
