John Holt Ibbetson Specimen Proofs from his publication 'A Practical View of an Invention for the Better Protecting Banknotes Against Forgery' of 1820. There are 10 specimens in this collection, although the publication had 17 and 68 pages of Print. All of the specimens where placed loosely into the publication.
8 of the specimens are on handmade paper varying in weight and 2 are on Indian type watermarked paper.(image 6)

John Holt Ibbetson was one of the forerunners of banknote security printing and his Geometric Chuck Machine can be seen in the Science Museum, London. Due to personal reasons 'Wayside Mews and Collectables' will be unable to fulfil any orders for the immediate future, this will include the period up to St Valentines Day 2023.
