Ancient Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Framework oil on canvas depicting a religious subject, Deposition of Christ with Angel, Madonna and Saints of good pictorial quality. Painting of great size and impact, adorned with an ancient wooden frame, not coeval, carved and adapted to the painting. Structurally sound frame which has various small signs of aging and some wooden defects on the edges (see picture). Painting that develops vertically, of great character, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient sacred art. Framework that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the stretcher and color recovery in various points (see picture). Lamentation over the dead Christ characterized by dark tones, the painter places the Madonna in tears in the centre, Nicodemus and Giuseppe D'Arimatea on the left, while Jesus, in the arms of an angel is painted on the right (see picture). Framework in fairly good state of conservation with some signs of the restoration.
