Georgian Oak Pad foot Dresser & Rack.
This is a fine and very stylish 18th Century Georgian antique oak dresser and rack. It has a bank of 3 deep drawers, elegant turned legs terminating in pad feet, and a tall thoughtfully designed rack offering a beautifully scalloped side profile.
Most definitely, smart and understated 18th century Georgian Town & Country House Furniture. It dates to about 1740.
It is of pegged tenon framed construction. The deeply swept 'shoes' which take the rack are original and constructed as a fixture to the base. The rack has 3 shelves with retaining grooves for plates and a well shaped canopy and cornice, and back boards - all original.
Constructed from straight grain English oak, the dresser has a glorious nut brown colour.
Condition - Excellent, and almost completely original. The tip of the right pad foot has been restored, and additional brackets have been added to the back rail of the base for additional support to the rack. Original handles, drawer linings, back boards
