Circa 1890, Flemish carved oak monk's bench. In a rectangular shape, with solid oak top and scratch foliate carving moulded edge. The lid is on upright arms by 2 well carved side sections with foliate carving, and the arms are shaped with carved faces to the front. There is a heraldic coat of arms to the seat and to another coat of arms surmounted by wings and foliate carving to the inside. The gables are carved with a flower head to the central panel, and a carved pattern all around the front, with 2 carved angels with stylised faces, and fruit and leaves to the sides. There is a half round moulding to the base that has been shaped and carved, and the whole piece stands on 4 squat bun feet.
