A very rare and original 1938 Boat Race bowl by Eric Ravilious for Wedgwood. This huge iconic piece in full colour is 12 inches dia and 5 inches high. The 4 outer images depict scenes from the River Thames on Boat race Day and the centre image is of night time Piccadilly Circus in the 1930's. The bowl is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing. A few miniscule under glaze specks from the factory kiln firing, common to all these original bowls.
