Edwardian Display Cabinet by Waring & Gillow
An early 20th century Edwardian inlaid mahogany display cabinet by Waring & Gillow.
The cabinet has a shaped top with a broad shaped moulded cornice and stands on cabriole legs.
The front and sides of the cabinet are glazed and has a large single centre door.
The door when opened provides access to a silk covered fixed shelf, two removable glass shelves and a storage area at the base.
The cabinet is decorated with box wood line inlays, fine chequered inlays and an oval panel of figured mahogany in the lower recess of the door.
The cabinet door has a working brass lock and key, the lock is stamped "Specially Made For Waring & Gillow Ltd, EV HV Squire & Sons LTD Wolverhampton".
This quality well made cabinet, typical of the craftsmanship of Waring & Gillow is in good condition with some marks to the original silk lining from age. (Circa 1900)
