Edwardian 9ct Gold Locket On 16 Inch Gold Chain
A delightfully pretty and petite Edwardian solid gold portrait locket which is suspended from a fully hallmarked fine 9 carat gold necklace. This delightful piece was crafted by the esteemed locket maker, Albert Ernest Jenkins. The locket was assayed (tested for purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1906.
One side of this enchanting locket pendant is adorned with a scroll cartouche which is framed by acanthus leaves.
The other side is decorated with ivy leaves.
Ivy leaves symbolise devotion, loyalty and also wedded bliss. Acanthus leaves represent longevity and immortality. The scroll cartouche is used to portray wisdom.
The interior of the locket is fitted with the original frames. The catches and hinges work perfectly.
This locket is suitable for two photos.
