Antique quality 19th Century Dutch Marquetry bureau abattant secretaire desk.
This is a rare breathtaking decorative piece of antique furniture, that is full of age, charm and character. Fantastic marquetry veneers.
No loose joints and the oak lined drawer slide freely. We have a key for the fall front (continental style, clockwise to open and a double lock).
6 functioning drawers inside the secretaire (the bottom 3 are dummies).

Overall maximum dimensions: 92cmW x 46cmD (97cmD with the writing surface down) x 145cmH. 72cmH writing surface, writing surface area 79cmW x 58cmD.
In good antique condition with minor historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is to be expected with antique furniture. No woodworm. This piece has had some historic alteration, in particular the lower cupboard may have originally been drawers. Later catch to cupboard doors. Some shrinkage cracking to the piece, but nothing progressive or significantly weakening. Some minor veneer loss, but nothing bad.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.
