Rare Dutch Golden Age Oil Portrait Painting c1650 of a lady of quality and such a likeable work.

There’s something about this portrait which really begins to grow on you, with the sitter looking towards the viewer in a concentrated gaze.

A demure depiction of a young woman, dating to around 1650 of European heritage and possibly Antwerp School.

Painted on an oak riven panel which has been strengthened with a cradle by a restorer.

Old label verso for a Parisian framer or picture dealer.

CONDITION
In common with most paintings of this age it has received the attentions of restorers. The panel is cradled and there is some overpainting. There is a touch up to the bottom of her sleeve which could be improved upon.

FRAME
The frame is later and has minor chipping to the edges.
