This is a Dutch style still life oil on panel by the artist F. DONATO or Donato F., who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts an arrangement of slightly stylised flowers, painted with a dark background in the Dutch manner. The arrangement is standing on a table, with a snail on the table next to the flowers.

Unfortunately, although there are quite a few painters with the name Donato, we could find no biographical information on an F. Donato or Donato F., although we think that he is probably Italian.

The painting is nicely framed in a 2 1/2" gilt frame and slip, which suits it very well. It is ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on board.

Condition: Excellent. The surface is clean and there is no paint loss. The frame is in very good condition.
