Capodimonte Gamekeeper By
A fine example of a hand crafted and painted figurine of a Gamekeeper holding a rifle in one hand with a dead pheasant bird held in the other hand, being sniffed by his loyal lurcher dog.
This particular piece is finished with great care to detail and is all individually hand painted.
The porcelain has a bisc semi matt finish and is carefully fired at low temperatures, which produces a hardened bone china finish.
The designers name "Tanella" is impressed into the porcelain to the back of the base plinth.
A limited number or examples of this splendidly modelled fisherman figurine would have been produced for a collectors market.
Capodimonte has risen considerably in value over the last 10 years and many lesser manufacturers have tried to copy the make with much poorer pieces, some being made of a fragile plaster mix.
