Antique Japanese Marquetry Table

Wonderful and unusual a Japanese Meiji period occasional table ( late 19th or early 20th century) probably made for export as this shape is after the very English tripod antique tables of the Victorian or Georgian period the base is ebonized but the top is classic Japanese marquetry work of various precious woods, a technique known as yosegi in Japanese. The skilled artisan has used contrasting woods to created geometric and figural patterns though often seen on boxes and small cabinets.

Condition is very good with just a little age ware to the top, as you might expect.
Size:21” diameter to the top x 27” tall
