Antique French carved gilt wood armchair with a matching footstool that fits tight against the front of this chair. We are selling this as a set together, because it would be a shame to split them. This set is as we obtained it in good original condition & the upholstery is still good too. I am putting this down as from the 1850’s period, however it may well be older. The gilding is original with very minor wear in places, but that’s all part of the charm. This armchair has very generous proportions & the carvings on the frame are nice & crisp.
