A beautiful and very decorative example of a late Victorian sterling silver bread fork, always very popular for serving all sorts of things, and particularly sought-after in sterling rather than silver plate. This one is larger than most, measuring 8" long x 2" at widest.

The handle is made by exotic Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell wit a bright shiny patina highlighting it's iridescent qualities.

The handle is joined to the sterling form with a highly decorative ferrule. The fork to is beautifully decorated. There is a full hallmark for Sheffield 1895 together with the makers initials HW for the silversmith, Henry Wilkinson.
