Antique English Coromandel & Silver Cigar Box
A wonderful late Victorian cigar box / humidor made from exotic Coromandel with solid silver mounts including the handle, all individually hallmarked for London 1898.
The makers mark is also present for the famous silversmith's, Betjemann Brothers (John George Betjemann & Ernest Edward Betjemann).
The hinged lids open to reveal a cedar lined interior the traditional way of keeping tobacco and tobacco products fresh. The interior compartments measure approximately 5 1/2" x 3 3/4".
The box remains in excellent antique condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use.
9 1/4" x 7 1/8" x 5" tall to top of silver handle.
