Animalistic genre Cavalryman gallops from storm
Signed monogram: D. (or P.) F. lower left and dated 1888. Cavalier in 18th century costume galloping horseback, road dust flies from under the hooves. A white beautiful horse rushes at full speed driven by a rider. In the background, in the distance, the spiers of the city hall of the receding city and an approaching thunderstorm with a downpour can be seen.It seems that the rider is trying to avoid the fate of falling under a thunderstorm and spurs his horse harder. A very nice, dynamic painting by a professional and gifted unidentified artist. Antique oil painting on canvas with original gold leaf gesso frame.
Size app.: 31 x 27 cm (roughly 12.2 x 10.6 in) frame 48.5 x 44.2 cm (roughly 19.1 x 14.4 in). Very good ready to hang condition with average wear and retouches to frame. We sell items to Buyers using most convenient and common terms of sale. Items are being shipped upon full payment reception. Packing and shipment of items is carried out within 1-5 days from the date of receipt of payment (the timing depends on the size and complexity of manufacturing individual packaging for safe transit). We ask for your understanding and patience in this matter.
