FINE small 2 foot 6" wide 18th century George III oak batchelors chest or chest with a slide. The chest with burr elm cross banding to the top and all four of the drawers. The slide at the top with original small brass knobs. Four long drawers with cock beaded edges and brass handles and escutions. The drawers are all oak lined with their original small steel locks. The chest stands on simple bracket feet. The chest is a lovely colour with good original patination from years of waxing.

The brass escutions are original but the brass plate handles are Edwardian replacements in the original holes.

Just a lovely small size chest with a slide just waiting for a new home.
