19th century French tulipwood oval log box
FINE quality 19th century French oval shaped log or coal box. Beautifully quarter veneered in tulipwood with boxwood line inlay. Ormulu feet and nice brass mould round the top edge. Original metal liner inside.
I thought when I first saw this piece it was a converted commode but it isn't, it has been made originally as a log box.
Lovely original colour and condition. Requires slight veneer work here and there mainly gluing down otherwise a very nice piece of top quality French antique furniture and still very useful today.

I thought when I first saw this piece it was a converted commode but it isn't, it has been made originally as a log box.
Lovely original colour and condition. Requires slight veneer work here and there mainly gluing down otherwise a very nice piece of top quality French antique furniture and still very useful today.
