Superior example of the classic 17th.c. oak six plank coffer c.1680. Made from six solid oak boards with a simple moulded detail, repeated on the rear and with an attractive ogee arch cutaway at the sides. Larger than many we see and with the unusual feature of large applied bracket feet to the front. Iron lock plate, latch and hinges. Fitted inside with a separate lidded compartment which acts as a stay for the top when open. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Dimensions: width 46″, depth 16″, height 24½".
